Tell us about your project using the enquiry form. If you already have drawings, renders or a specification, attach them — it saves a round of questions.

Don't worry if you haven't decided everything yet. Most people haven't at this stage, and that is what the conversation is for.

After the first call we discuss your project with the workshop team and send you our design input along with an estimate for the work as discussed.

You are welcome to visit the workshop in Ciudad del Saber and see what is in production. We would rather you saw where your furniture is made before you commit to it.

Your quote sets out the costs, including delivery and installation, the project notes as agreed, and the lead time. Anything that comes up later is put to you in advance, so you can choose what suits your budget.

Once you accept the quote we issue the invoice. Payment is made in instalments across the project, set out in your quote, so you are never paying far ahead of the work.

The invoice is the agreement between you and Kajou, so please check every detail before paying.

Once the deposit is received we book the site visit. We take full measurements and photographs, note anything the design has to accommodate, and keep talking through your decisions on site.

Before we come, the space needs to be structurally finished — walls closed and plastered at minimum — and clear enough for us to measure. If we cannot measure properly we have to return, and a second visit is chargeable.

We develop the concepts discussed and send you the first designs — drawings that let you see the space and the furniture in it, with the details resolved.

Your feedback on this first round matters more than any other. Be blunt with us.

If you came to us with your own design, this stage and the next do not apply — we go straight to technical plans.

We work through your amendments, adjusting the design to what you want while keeping it something we can produce well. Two rounds of revisions are included.

Once you sign off the design, your project is queued for production.

The approved design is drawn again, properly, for production — every part, joint, tolerance and sheet layout.

This is the stage most furniture projects lose something at, because the person drawing is not the person cutting. At Kajou they are the same team. If something will not work in plywood, we know before the machine starts.

For architects and designers, this is the whole service: you hand over a design, we make it buildable and tell you what needs to change.

Everything is made in our workshop in Ciudad del Saber, in premium-grade plywood with jacaranda veneer. Cutting, assembly, sanding and finishing all happen under one roof, by our own team.

Installation is carried out by our own team — the people who built the piece.

Wood moves a little in the weeks after installation, particularly in this climate. That is normal, and we come back and adjust it.
